In 2020 I thought I read a quote by Alice Coltrane that completely changed the way I thought about my music but I have since looked and looked for that quote and never been about to find it. It was something about how every artist has a role in the revolution, whether it is to galvanize people into action, inspire people to think about the world in a different way, or to provide peace and comfort to the minds and hearts that are fighting every day to make things better.
In 2024, the genesis of this idea and its association is a mystery to me but my love for Alice and her music remains so I decided to reprint this one.
